For those of you that know me well know that I am not an animal person.  I never really had a bad experience, that I can remember, just not a big fan.  It can drive me nuts when a dog jumps on me and tries to lick me.  A few years ago I attended a Chicago White Sox game, in Chicago, where fans were welcome to bring their dogs to the baseball game at U.S. Cellular Field. I remember telling my buddy Chris how grossed out I was watching those dogs walk around the concourse, go to the bathroom on fake grass and fire hydrants, and eat any dropping of food they could find.  I swore to him that I would never attend one of those games again.

Well, I found myself in a car with Chris heading to the Great American Ballpark to see the Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies when he told me that it was “Bark in the Park” Night, meaning that there would be numerous dogs attending the game.  Not willing to risk my life jumping out of the speeding car down Interstate 71, I decided I would go in with an open mind.  Not being able to resist getting pictures for this blog story, I decided to walk through the “Dog zone” to get some shots of the action.  Luckily I was not attacked by any dogs and made it to the other side without any scrapes.

I will say the Chris and I had a good laugh throughout the game watching all the dogs on the scoreboard and seeing how their owners treat them.

Thanks to our buddy Billy (we will call him Billy not to get him in trouble), we were given tickets to the “All You Can Eat Section” at the ballpark.  After putting on our red wrist bands, Chris and I attacked the concession stand with open arms.  I was too busy eating to take pictures, but let’s just say after a while I tried to go back for more and was told, “No more Diet Coke for you. You leave now!”  Good times were had by all.

You are not on the road in Davenport, what’s up? The team is playing well. Maybe you should stay home all the time.
