murphy-in-lansing Running a minor league clubhouse is not easy work.  It takes a lot of time and more people than just myself to complete our duties for 140 games a year, 70 of them at home.  It takes help from the front office, bat boys and most importantly, a great assistant. I owe a ton of thanks to my clubhouse assistant Mike Murphy.
MIke has been working for the Dragons for nine seasons now. He first started out as a batboy when he was still a young teenager. Now, he’s worked his way up to clubhouse assistant.
Mike will soon be leaving to start his junior year at Miami University. But the help he’s lent me over the course of this season on everything from laundry to taking care of the visiting team and everything in between has been invaluable.
On the Dragons recent trip to Lansing, Michigan, Mike accompanied me to get the experience of life on the road with the Dragons and see how it differs from games at home.
“It is always cool to get to visit a new city and see a stadium that is new to me,” Mike said.  “I also liked to see the different ways things are done in the clubhouse and how things are run by other organizations.”
While on the road, Mike assisted me in daily duties of making sure laundry was taking care of, the players had pre game food and the coaches had every resource possible at their fingertips.
Mike also added that it was great to be able to relax a little and spend some time with the players and staff in a different setting.  We got to work out together and spend a lot of time at the mall eating lunch and browsing some stores.
Mike seemed to have a great time on the road trip and myself and the team enjoyed having him there.  He truly is another piece to the machine that is needed to make everything run smooth.

I knew you were doing the right thing. Can you help me set up my own web site? It won’t compete with yours. And I will pay the man.
