Been getting some good coverage from other media outlets about the bat story…Here is an article from the Dayton Daily News.

DAYTON — Baseball players are a superstitious lot who will do almost anything to break a slump.
So it should have been no surprise the Dayton Dragons tried a unique fix on Saturday for their recent batting woes.
When clubhouse manager Corey Brinn pointed out it had been 10 years since the Angels and batting coach Rod Carew decided to use only one bat to break out of a slump — and did — Dragons hitting coach Tony Jaramillo sent word to the clubhouse: pick out a bat, boys, and we’ll see how it works.
The original plan was to use the bat only once through the order, but after the Dragons collected five hits that way, they decided to stay with it. In all, they had 17 hits before Kevin Coddington broke the bat in two on a groundout.
All the team signed what was left of the bat on Sunday, Aug. 30, but no plans were made to repeat with another bat.
“It worked once,” Jaramillo said. “We don’t have to do it again.”
But you know, there are those superstitions. Usually, Josh Fellhauer leads off for the Dragons and Alex Oliveras bats ninth. Fellhauer didn’t play Saturday, and Oliveras led off. He collected four hits and hit the ball hard a fifth time.
Sunday, he led off again, and Fellhauer batted second.
Manager Todd Benzinger had a hunch something else might work for the Dragons.
