yankees-mets-logo Before the 2009 Major League Baseball began, I was very proud to flex my muscles and tell people that I had attended at least one game in every current Major League stadium.  I could even go a step further and tell people that I also seen a game in a number of stadiums that are closed and no longer used for professional events.  But once the New York Yankees and New York Mets opened up play in 2009, I could no longer stake this claim, as they both opened new stadiums this season.
The only downfall I can find in working in minor league baseball is that I do not have a lot of time, if any, during the summer to travel around the country to see other professional baseball games.  Sure, I am in the dugout for 140 games during any given season and get to see some stadiums as I travel with the Dayton Dragons, but it still is not the same.  Baring no playoffs, the minor league season ends the first week of September, still giving me three to four weeks to figure out some plans to attend MLB Games.
In a few days I will be leaving for New York City, and have the opportunity to see a Mets game in Citi Field, and two Yankee games in the new Yankee Stadium, allowing me to once again tell people that I have attended one game in every current Major League Stadium.  Of course this statement can only be used for a few months as the Minnesota Twins will open a new park in 2010, but I can address that problem later.
As if it is possible to add more excitement to this trip, the Yankees are taking on the Boston Red Sox in what could be the greatest rivalry in sports.  Although the ticket prices sure don’t know this, but the series will mean little to nothing for postseason play, but is what I hope a preview of this year’s American League Championship Series.  There is just something about the Yankees-Red Sox battling it out in a seven game ALCS that I love as a baseball fan.
So time to pack and get ready to head to the Big Apple.  Please check back to this website for updates on my travels and a full review of each stadium.  If there is anything special that you would like me to look for or cover, please let me know by emailing me at Corey@Coreybrinn.com or clicking on the comments button below.
