It is amazing how one story can get the attention that it did.  In case you missed the story about “The Bat,” from an earlier Dayton Dragons game, please click HERE to check it out.

As I have posted on this site, many media outlets picked up this story and covered it in their own sort of way. I have had many emails about this and lately people want to know what happened to the bat from that night.  As we all know, the bat was broken in the bottom of the 8th inning, and never used again.  To answer everyone’s question, the bat is currently with me at home. I plan to display in a case on my shelf, and may even frame a copy of my article to put with it.

As you can see from the picture below, I had the starting nine from that nights game, along with hitting coach Tony Jaramillo to sign the bat for me. I also placed the stats that the bat helped get during the game against Lansing.

The bat may have sparked us that night against the Lugnuts, and for the next few games, but the Dragons did fall one game short of the playoffs.
