Since The Great American Ball Park opened in 2003, I have been fortunate to have seen a couple hundred games featuring my hometown Cincinnati Reds and opponents from across the Major Leagues.  I have also been lucky to have the chance to sit in just about every section and area of the stadium.  I watched a game in the Diamond Club, where you are closer to home plate than the pitcher is and all food and drinks are free. I watched a game in a luxury seat, and all the party decks at GABP (Great American Ball Park).  I have sat in the bleachers, scout seats, moon deck, All-You-Can-Eat-Section, Machine Room, and even the Riverfront Club.  But the other night versus the St. Louis Cardinals, I saw a Reds game from the only area in the park I have never been, the 4192 club.

Full renovated at the start of the 2009 season, the 4192 club is located on the entire second deck down the right field line, from about the edge of the dugout until almost the foul pole.  With your game ticket, you have the rights to all inclusive (free!) food and soft drinks that are served in the club.  As you will see pictured below, the club is set up with a variety of food stations located throughout consisting of food as simple as hamburgers and hot dogs, to pasta dishes and jambalaya.  There are also stations with Cincinnati favorites like LaRosa’s pizza and Montgomery Inn pulled pork sandwiches.

The price for a game ticket and all you can eat food sits around $85 per game.  My buddy Bill was able to hook me up with a ticket, and we had a great time watching the Reds destroy the Cardinals and shoving as much food in our faces as possible.  By my second order of loaded nachos, and third order of LaRosa’s breadsticks, I had to call it a night and stop eating.  I mean, the first hamburger, basket of Saratoga chips and pasta medley went down smooth, but I couldn’t handle much more.  A few vendors walked around handing out free ice cream, but the chilly temperatures outside kept me away from that.

Spending that much for a game ticket to a Reds game may seem a little steep, but the experience was great.  The seats are all padded and in a good location and not having to pay extra money for food and drinks is always a nice touch.  I can now say I have sat in every section of GABP and the 4192 club come highly recommended.
