Brian Kelly Leaving Cincinnati

It is no secret that I am not a huge fan of the game of football. It has even been said that I will go out of my way to avoid having to attend or watch a game on television. But I could not help but notice the University of Cincinnati Football Team the past three seasons and there rise to the top and chase for a National Championship. I have never meet Brian Kelly, and do not want to go into to much detail of my opinion of the situation. I will say this, if fans are mad that he left UC for Notre Dame, please be mad at the way he left, not the fact that he left. He may not have handled things right, but you cannot fault a guy for wanting his dream job. The way I look at it, Brian Kelly will either retire or get fired at Notre Dame, and not look to move on again. I could be wrong, but those are my thoughts. I have been through this situation before with Bob Huggins leaving for West Virginia University, his dream job. People never blasted Roy Williams when he left Kansas for the University of North Carolina, his dream job.
The people I feel bad for tonight was the Bearcat Basketball. I attended the game at US Bank Arena against Miami of Ohio (which I will cover tomorrow since I am tired) and the buzz was all about Kelly, not the game going on several feet in front of them.
The quote of the night came from a good friend of mine who attended the UC Football banquet and then came over for the rest of the basketball game. He was obviously upset about how things went down. He said, Ever since Ronald Regan was in office, “There has only been one loyal coach to the University of Cincinnati, and they ran him out of town.”
And then again, what do I know about the game of football.

Very well put.
