Winter Meetings Day One

The city of Indianapolis and the 2009 Major League Baseball Winter Meetings will pick up today as most front office executives, members of the media, and players searching for work with check in. I decided to come up yesterday and take part in the second half of the “Business of Baseball” seminar geared towards young professionals trying to get work.
I will have my eyes and ears open the next few days to take in all that the 2009 Winter Meetings has to offer. I have to say I am most looking forward to the Trade Show to get some free food samples and see all the equipment and other baseball products that the vendors have on display.
After sitting in a large conference room for several hours listening to minor league executives speak about the game, trying to get jobs, and what the future holds, I was reminded of a major thing, I love the game of baseball and feel fortunate to work in it.
