Cincinnati Reds Spring Training History

For the first time in club history, the Cincinnati Reds are training during the spring in the state of Arizona. After completing their final season in 2009 in Sarasota, Florida, the organization moved their operations to Goodyear, Arizona. The Reds are sharing the Goodyear Ballpark with the Cleveland Indians. The team trains down the street at a nearby facility, also located next to the Indians one.
Following the Chicago White Sox move to Arizona after the 1997 season, the Reds took up residency in Sarasota at Ed Smith Stadium. Also for the last few seasons they have had a High-A team in the Florida State league operating out of Sarasota. The High-A team has moved to Lynchburg, Virginia for the 2010 campaign.

By the looks of this new facility, the Reds will be training in Goodyear, Arizona for a while…
