Clubhouse Manager comes full circle with Rigo Beltran

Assistant Minor League Equipment Manager John Bryk has spent over 20 years in professional baseball, most of them at the AAA level. He has seen many players and coaches come through his clubhouse, some making it to the big leagues, and some getting all so close.
The majority of Bryk’s career was working as the Head Clubhouse and Equipment Manager for the Ottawa Lynx in Canada, who served mainly as the AAA affiliate for the Montreal Expos, and then later the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies. The past two seasons, Bryk has been in Sarasota, Florida working with the Cincinnati Reds High-A club.
One individual has come full circle with Bryk, Rigo Beltran. Beltran was a player on the Lynx as he came up in the Expos system. Now, Beltran is a pitching coach in the Reds system. Bryk said Beltran is the first person that he had as a player, and now has a coach, working with him throughout Spring Training and other times of the season.
“I remember The Brykster (Bryk) very,” said Beltran. “He always did a great job and it is nice to have him around again.”
Another person that Bryk had from his Ottawa days is current High-A Lynchburg manager Pat Kelly. Kelly was also the manager for the Lynx and was a major reason why Bryk wanted to start working with the Cincinnati Reds.
As things have come full circle for Bryk and Beltran, Bryk hopes to be able to work with more of his former players that he enjoyed throughout the years.
