New Batting Cages in Goodyear, Arizona

A professional baseball player can never seem to get enough ‘swings’ with a bat in a day. Whether it is during a game, off of a batting practice pitcher, hitting off a tee or underhand soft toss from a teammate, you can always find someone taking some cuts on a professional baseball team. At the new Cincinnati Reds Spring Training Complex in Goodyear, Arizona, accomplishing this feat is very easy.
Within a couple hundred feet from the clubhouse are five covered batting cages, allowing a large number of players to get in their work at the same time. If the weather is nice, there are an additional six cages located outside as well.
A major advance in these covered cages, are that cameras are mounted inside of them to record players swings so they can look at them later and analyze with the coaching staff.
Is the batting cages open to the public?
During spring training the batting cages are closed to the general public, but all of the fields are open for fans to view the action that takes place.
When can the public use the batting cages? I have a son who is in the majors in the Little League that wants to improve his swing.

Don’t think these are ever open to the public, but you should contact the Reds Office in Goodyear to see…
The Reds place is very nice. My son got to go hit there with a friend of ours who is a scout for the Reds, but you have to know someone and even then they were kinda touchy about it.
