Happy Mother’s Day 2010

Today, being Mother’s Day, is one of the few days of the year when it is acceptable for men and women to wear pink.  It sends out a statement of support for the fight for Breast Cancer and is recognizable to everyone across the globe.

Players in professional baseball have been supporting the cause for many seasons.  Players have permission from the league to use pink baseball bats if they would like, and most also wear pink armbands to show their support.

During today’s contest against the South Bend Silverhawks, I will be wearing a pink Phiten necklace to show my support for the fight against breast cancer on this Mother’s Day.  I am sure to take some heat from my teammates, but I feel that it is worth it.

Also, the Silverhawks players and staff will be wearing pink camouflage jersey’s that I will snap some pictures of and share later.

I would also like to take this opportunity to with my mother, Eileen, a very happy Mother’s Day. She means the world to me and can never find the right way to tell her thank you for all that she does.  Mom, I love you and have a great day.

My Dayton Dragon teammates would also like me to wish their mother’s that follow my website a very happy Mother’s Day.  They are sorry that can’t be with you today, but wish you the best.
