St. Patrick’s Day in June?

The series finale between the Dayton Dragons and the Fort Wayne Tin Caps at Parkview Field had an interesting twist to it, a St. Patrick’s Day theme. ¬†The calendar may have said June, but that did not stop the players and fans of Fort Wayne, Indiana to get into the spirit wearing green and drinking reduce priced beer. The team even worse special jersey’s made for the evening. ¬†Following the game the jersey’s were raffled off to a few lucky fans.

Also performing at the game was Jake the Diamond Dog. Jake is a golden retriever that does tricks like catching frisbees, delivering water to umpires in a basket and even acting as batboy fetching the bats from the plate.

I was able to get some pictures and videos of all the nights activities to bring to you.

Pregame team stretch in the special jerseys

Jersey's were simple but nice

Very cool logo on the sleeve

Starting pitcher liked the jersey throwing 7 scoreless innings of no hit ball

He may ask to wear this again...pitch count stood in the way of his no-no

A shamrock on the sleeve and back were a nice touch
