As evidence by the picture below, getting a parking spot closest to your destination is not always the best thing.  This is very true when it comes to Spring Training baseball.  The car shown was parked beyond the outfield wall of a minor league backfield, and was shattered by a home run ball as the Cincinnati Reds took on the Baltimore Orioles in Sarasota.  The owner of the car was at Ed Smith Stadium watching the Reds take on the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Imagine coming back to your car after the game and seeing this?  Upon review it was a rental car, so hope they took out that insurance that is always offered. The worst part about the whole thing is that someone reached into the car and took the baseball out!!  Get your back window broke and do not even get the baseball…terrible…

This was the best! I can remember going to a minor league game in the state of Washington and coming out and seeing balls all over the parking lot.

“I dont care if Im Cy Young or if Im the 25th man on the roster. If Ive got that ball in my hand and m out there on that mound, thats not your mound. If you want to run across the mound, go run laps in the bullpen...If my grandmother ran across the mound, shed hear the same thing he heard. Period.”
