Washer and Dryer in Minor League Laundry Room
An equipment and clubhouse manager’s best friend is the washing machine. With about 200 players, 25 coaches, 10 medical staff and 5 strength coaches in minor league camp, I cannot begin to tell you how many loads run through this washer during Spring Training or even during each day.
And do not even dream about what would happen if one of these machines were to break down.  At the complex in Sarasota, there are four machines, two on the major league side and two on the minor league side. When possible, the machines are shared, but a majority of the time the schedules are similar, making for some lllllooooonnnnngggg nights getting things ready for the next day.
The machines are considered “industrial†machines and each one holds around 75 pounds of dirty laundry. Luckily, the soap and chemicals are all automatic, so after you close it, hit the start button and wait.
So, how come I’ve seen your basket at your place piled up to the ceiling. you don’t know how to turn it on?
Hi i am a big! Reds fan. I was just wondering how do you get the pants clean and ready to go for the next day?
The secret is to put some protein release powder in with the load!!!
Do you know what kind of cars the players drive? I have always wanted to know who had what for cars.
Thanks
Reds Super Fan
I can not match each player to their car yet, but I can tell you the parking lot is worth a lot of money!! My favorite seems to be a mini hummer H2…I am not a car expert, so not sure what it is really called.
Griffey use to have the best wheels as he had about four or so he would rotate every few days.
If you go to the back lots where the minor leaguers park, you will see tons of nice pickup trucks and SUV’s.
Surprisingly, a lot of players ride in together since they all don’t have cars in Sarasota and most live around the same area.
